Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert

About the role

NTU International is looking for a Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert to lead the digital transformation of transport governance across the ECOWAS region. You will support the integration of AI, smart platforms and data‑driven tools to improve mobility, safety and regional connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for AI integration into transport, logistics and infrastructure systems.
• Design AI‑enabled monitoring tools, predictive analytics and decision‑support platforms.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks.
• Support corridor monitoring, customs systems, road safety, transport observatories and infrastructure management digitalisation.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building on AI applications in transport.
• Coordinate with ECOWAS institutions, ICT providers, transport agencies and development partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• Proven experience on digitalisation projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
