Sous Chef

About the role

Mbemi Village Eco-Resort is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in delivering authentic Cameroonian and continental dishes. The role focuses on culinary excellence, sustainability, and an outstanding guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with daily operations and food preparation.
• Supervise and train the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety (HACCP).
• Source fresh local produce from Buea farms and markets.
• Control stock, manage costs, and minimize waste.
• Lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent.
• Proven skills in Cameroonian and continental cuisine.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt.
• Strong leadership, time‑management and hygiene practices.
• Culinary diploma is a plus but not mandatory.
• Must be based in Buea or ready to relocate immediately.
