About the role

Wem’afrika is seeking a passionate Volunteer Social Media Manager to enhance its online presence and promote its mission of sustainable peace and development across Africa. Working remotely, you will collaborate with program leads to amplify impact stories and engage diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create, and schedule content across multiple social media platforms.
• Develop and maintain content calendars tailored to each platform’s audience.
• Monitor analytics, track performance metrics, and provide actionable insights.
• Engage with online communities, respond to comments, and foster dialogue.
• Collaborate with program teams to highlight events, initiatives, and success stories.

Required profile

• Strong interest in peacebuilding, human rights, empowerment, and sustainable development.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills with a focus on inclusive messaging.
• Previous experience in social media management for NGOs or advocacy groups is a plus.
