Air Freight Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Airfreight Manager to lead and grow our airfreight division. The role oversees end‑to‑end airfreight operations, drives strategic growth and ensures operational excellence across international logistics activities.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and manage the airfreight division, including operations, pricing, and customer service
• Develop and execute airfreight strategy aligned to overall business objectives
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share within the airfreight segment
• Oversee end‑to‑end airfreight operations, including import/export processes, customs compliance, and carrier management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, agents, and global partners
• Ensure service delivery excellence and adherence to SLAs and KPIs
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost control, and efficiency improvements
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team

Required profile

• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in airfreight/logistics, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of international airfreight operations, IATA regulations, and customs procedures
• Proven track record in business development and P&L management
• Established network within airlines and freight forwarding industry
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
• Commercially astute with a strategic mindset
