Assistant Director of Nursing (Ambulatory Surgical Center)

About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the Clinical Director and Administrator in managing the day‑to‑day operations of an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). This leadership position ensures smooth scheduling, staffing, and quality patient care while maintaining strong physician and vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily internal flow, procedure scheduling, and staffing assignments.
• Maintain compliance with AAAHC, CMS guidelines, and internal policies.
• Manage inventory, quality assurance/quality improvement, preventative maintenance, safety, and risk management.
• Assist in Pre‑Op, PACU, and OR activities as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with physicians, vendors, patients, and staff.
• Participate in performance evaluations and staff development.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum 2 years of ASC management experience.
• Experience in Pre‑Op, PACU, OR, or SPD preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
