Data Management Officer – Clinical Service Improvement & Science

About the role

The Data Management Officer – Clinical Service Improvement & Science (DMO‑CSIS) will support EGPAF’s evaluation and clinical support teams in Cameroon by managing data collection, processing, and analysis for public‑health evaluation projects. Reporting to the Director of Public Health Evaluation, the incumbent will ensure data quality, develop electronic capture tools, and collaborate with local and international investigators.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electronic data collection tools and databases for specific evaluation projects.
• Extract datasets from central databases and perform data quality assessments, generating error listings and data queries.
• Supervise data correction processes with SI&E teams and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and EGPAF standards.
• Conduct statistical analyses for progress reports, newsletters, and presentations.
• Maintain regular communication with local and international investigators, the Cameroon Ministry of Health, and sponsor institutions.
• Mentor junior staff on data quality, collection procedures, and evaluation methodologies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of public health and human subjects research, including GCP.
• Experience in clinical or operational research as a data manager or data officer.
• Familiarity with electronic data collection software and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, SAS or R.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to develop and manage electronic data capture tools.
