Clinical Doctor, Site Project Coordinator

About the role

The Clinical Doctor, Site Project Coordinator supports the management of an HIV project and improves the delivery of clinical HIV services in supported health facilities in the Littoral Region, through a package of integrated HIV care and treatment services. The role covers planning, execution and monitoring of the project in a supported health facility, under the general supervision of the Associate Project Director, and is split between management and clinical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Management (50%): develop and submit a budgeted monthly work plan, implement it within budget, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, organize in-service training and formative supervision, hold weekly/monthly coordination and feedback meetings, monitor data collection and reporting, and submit monthly activity and expense reports.
• Clinical (50%): support national HIV/AIDS programme guidelines including antiretroviral treatment, support index case testing, manage treatment failure, TB/HIV co-infections and advanced HIV, and mentor the medical and paramedical team.

Required profile

• Medical degree with at least 7 years of experience in the clinical management of HIV patients.
• Registration with the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon is mandatory.
• At least 5 years in a health services management position in a hospital managing a caseload of 2,500+ patients.
• Fluency in French is a key requirement; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
• Project management training is an asset.

Required skills

• Very good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, teamwork and willingness to learn.
