Nurse, Site Project Coordinator

About the role

The Nurse, Site Project Coordinator supports the management of an HIV project and improves the delivery of clinical HIV services in supported health facilities by offering a package of integrated HIV care and treatment services. The role covers planning, execution and monitoring of the project in a supported health facility, under the general supervision of the Associate Project Director, and is split between management and clinical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Management (50%): develop and submit a budgeted monthly work plan, implement it within budget, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, organize in-service training and formative supervision, hold weekly/monthly coordination and feedback meetings, monitor data collection and reporting, and submit monthly activity and expense reports.
• Clinical (50%): support national HIV/AIDS programme guidelines, antiretroviral treatment and Index Case testing, improve retention of people living with HIV through coaching, manage treatment failure, TB/HIV co-infections and advanced HIV, and initiate second- or third-line antiretroviral therapy.

Required profile

• Nursing degree with at least five years of experience in the clinical management of HIV patients.
• Registration with the National Order of Nurses of Cameroon is mandatory.
• At least three years of experience in a health services management position in a hospital or health district.
• Fluency in French is a key requirement; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
• Strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, teamwork and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Project management training is an asset.
• Very good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is mandatory.
