Construction Specialist – Education Infrastructure

About the role

The Construction Specialist will coordinate construction activities for UNICEF Cameroon’s Education Programme, ensuring safe, inclusive, and high‑quality learning environments in underserved areas. Reporting to the Chief of Section, the incumbent will plan, support procurement, and monitor on‑site works.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual construction workplan aligned with programme objectives.
• Collaborate with UNICEF programme teams and government counterparts to define construction interventions.
• Develop design and technical documents for education infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical support to the procurement process, including tender specifications.
• Monitor construction projects on site, ensuring compliance with standards, timelines, and budgets.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture, or environmental engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in UN/NGO construction management, education infrastructure, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, procurement, contract management, site supervision, and architectural design.
