Education Officer (NO-2) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

The Education Officer (NO-2) will support UNICEF’s education programming in the Far North region of Cameroon, working under the direct supervision of the Chief Field Office. The role focuses on integrating education interventions with WASH, child protection and social protection, ensuring they are climate‑resilient, inclusive and responsive to emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Support education programme planning, situation analysis and results‑based design using relevant data and evidence.
• Contribute to programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and follow‑up to ensure timely delivery of results.
• Coordinate with UNICEF colleagues, government counterparts, implementing partners, UN agencies, donors and other stakeholders.
• Monitor the use of programme resources and ensure compliance with UNICEF procedures, donor commitments and accountability standards.
• Assist in data analysis, progress reporting and alignment of education interventions with programme goals.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in education, social sciences, international development or a related field.
• Experience working in education programmes, preferably in humanitarian or fragile contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with government, NGOs and UN partners.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
