Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a global leader in aviation services, is looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior position will ensure accurate financial information, compliance with GAAP, and the effective management of an eight‑person accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Prepare, review, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial results.
• Coordinate federal, state, and international tax filings with a third‑party CPA firm.
• Ensure compliance with new accounting standards and emerging guidance.
• Lead external audit processes and provide required documentation.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records, depreciation schedules, and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate the accounting department staff.
• Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and the company 401(k) plan through external providers.
• Maintain relationships with banks, external accountants, and insurance agents.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and the CEO.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics (master’s or CPA/CMA preferred).
• Minimum ten years of accounting, audit, and financial experience, preferably in a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, corporate taxation, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated management and supervisory experience with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with Quantum ERP (preferred).
