Front Desk Receptionist Internship

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Front Desk Receptionist Intern to join our team at MEJOM HOTEL & Apartments in Douala. The internship provides hands‑on experience in daily front‑office operations, guest interaction and basic administrative tasks within a hotel and apartment setting.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, perform check‑in and check‑out procedures.
• Answer and direct phone calls, handle reservations and respond to guest inquiries in person and by phone.
• Maintain accurate guest records, file documents and update front‑desk logs.
• Assist with basic clerical duties such as filing, data entry and preparing reports.
• Support the front‑office team by resolving guest concerns and coordinating with housekeeping and other departments.
• Ensure the reception area remains organized, clean and presentable.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service and communication abilities.
• Professional phone etiquette and receptionist skills.
• Basic clerical competence and attention to detail.
• Reliability, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn.
• A courteous, professional demeanor; prior hospitality experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent office software.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
