About the role
The Human Resources Officer will support the Douala branch by managing industrial relations, disciplinary processes, health‑insurance administration, and health‑and‑safety activities. The role requires a creative, dedicated professional who can work extra hours to meet tight deadlines and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead all disciplinary procedures, ensuring compliance with the company code of conduct, local labour law, and collective agreements.
- Preside over disciplinary hearings and represent the company in social disputes and labour‑court matters.
- Provide industrial‑relations training and guidance to line managers.
- Maintain accurate disciplinary records, compile trend reports, and keep an active case register.
- Manage the branch’s health‑insurance platform, oversee onboarding/off‑boarding, monitor consumption rates, and advise staff on reimbursement processes.
- Support health‑and‑safety initiatives, participate in safety meetings, report incidents, and follow up on corrective actions.
Required profile
- Experience in people management, legal compliance, and insurance administration.
- Ability to work beyond regular hours to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with local labour legislation and collective bargaining agreements.
