Interim Disrepair Surveyor – South London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Disrepair Surveyor to join a busy, high‑profile disrepair team within a South London local authority. Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will own cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections to diagnose disrepair issues and specify remedial works.
• Raise work orders and manage contractors through to completion, including pre‑inspections, work‑in‑progress checks and post‑completion inspections.
• Project‑manage disrepair works, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce quality and Health & Safety standards.
• Act as the main point of contact for tenants, providing clear communication throughout the works.
• Coordinate temporary decants where required and collaborate with internal teams such as Legal and Tenancy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property maintenance or building surveying.
• Strong technical knowledge of building defects and repairs.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation in property maintenance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
