Monitoring Officer

About the role

The Humanitarian Association of Dynamic Youths (HADY) is seeking a Monitoring Officer to oversee the tracking and evaluation of its education, WASH, protection and health projects in Cameroon’s South‑West region. The role ensures that activities are implemented as planned, data are reliable, and lessons are captured to improve programme performance in a challenging, conflict‑affected environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply monitoring tools, checklists and data‑collection instruments aligned with HADY’s MEAL framework.
• Conduct regular field visits to verify project implementation against work plans and logical frameworks.
• Collect, clean, compile and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from field activities.
• Design and manage beneficiary feedback and complaints mechanisms.
• Prepare timely monitoring reports, dashboards and visualisations for programme managers and donors.
• Support baseline, midline and end‑line assessments as well as post‑distribution monitoring.
• Identify gaps, risks and bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure data protection, confidentiality and ethical standards in all monitoring activities.
• Build capacity of field staff and community volunteers on data collection and monitoring processes.
• Represent HADY in coordination meetings and contribute to donor reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in monitoring, evaluation, social sciences or a related field.
• Proven experience conducting monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian or development projects, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with programme teams, partners and communities.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and to protecting vulnerable populations.
