Principal / Head Teacher – International School in Cameroon

About the role

The American International Bilingual School (AMIBS) in Yaoundé is seeking an experienced Principal/Head Teacher to lead its bilingual Pre‑Nursery through Secondary programme. The role combines instructional leadership with full administrative responsibility and requires relocation to Cameroon.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructional and administrative leadership for the school.
• Supervise teachers and support staff, conduct classroom observations and evaluations.
• Monitor curriculum implementation, academic performance and student discipline.
• Develop and drive school improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff and senior management.
• Organise staff development and professional training programmes.
• Support student recruitment, retention and overall school operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in school leadership, administration or as a Head Teacher/Principal.
• Strong classroom management and instructional leadership abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience in multicultural or international school settings is an advantage.
• Willingness to live and work in Cameroon.
