Protection Assistant Mamfe

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Protection Assistant to support gender‑based violence (GBV) case‑management activities in Mamfe, Cameroon. You will work directly in safe spaces and mobile response units, ensuring that survivors receive timely and appropriate assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage GBV cases referred by partners, IRC staff, and community members at safe spaces.
• Provide first‑line response, documentation, and referral to specialized services.
• Coordinate with mobile response teams to reach displaced populations in remote areas.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure confidentiality of survivor information.
• Support the collection of data for monitoring and reporting purposes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian protection and gender‑based violence response.
• Experience working with displaced or vulnerable populations in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
