Commercial and Marketing Director

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial and Marketing Director to lead the development and execution of our client’s commercial and marketing strategies in Douala. Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, you will drive sales growth, market penetration and brand visibility across the FMCG portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the commercial and marketing strategy for all product lines.
• Manage internal communication flows and coordinate with other departments.
• Prepare, manage and optimise the Commercial & Marketing budget.
• Conduct regular reviews of commercial and marketing plans and apply corrective actions.
• Forecast product demand and plan supply accordingly.
• Lead the development and launch of new products.
• Design and execute media and non‑media communication plans for each brand.
• Represent the department at Management Committee meetings and obtain approval for pricing, margins and terms of sale.
• Define roles, set objectives and implement performance evaluation and career development for the team.
• Oversee customer credit limits in collaboration with Finance.
• Coordinate export operations with freight forwarders.
• Plan and manage follow‑up meetings to track commercial objectives.
• Participate in recruitment and selection of department staff.
• Collect and analyse market intelligence for competitive insights.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly sales, stock and receivable reports.

Required profile

• MBA or equivalent Master’s degree in Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial management role, preferably within the Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
• Strong knowledge of project management, corporate finance and IT management tools.
