Communication Intern – Field Outreach & Visibility (Douala)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Cameroon seeks a motivated Communication Intern to support visibility and outreach activities in Douala. Working under the National Outreach and Visibility Officer, you will assist field teams in documenting activities, creating simple multimedia content, and supporting donor communication.

Key responsibilities

• Capture photos and short videos during field missions using a smartphone or camera.
• Collect beneficiary quotes and draft brief field updates for social media and internal channels.
• Assist in preparing visibility materials such as banners, branded items, and consent forms in line with donor requirements.
• Organise and maintain communication files, including photos, videos, notes, and consent forms.
• Create basic graphics or infographics using beginner‑friendly tools.
• Support community‑engagement activities and capture positive stories from beneficiaries.
• Prepare short internal updates and maintain simple communication logs.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, or a graduate program, in Communication, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Political Science, Journalism or a related field.
• Or recently graduated with a relevant university degree.

Required skills

• Canva for basic graphic creation.
• Smartphone or camera photography and video capture.
