Resource Mobilisation & Business Development Consultant

About the role

SEMBE, a woman‑led NGO operating in the Far North region of Cameroon, seeks a remote Resource Mobilisation & Business Development Consultant on a contract basis. The consultant will support the organization’s growth by identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and strengthening donor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a rapid assessment of SEMBE’s current fundraising tools, approaches and positioning.
• Develop a practical Resource Mobilisation Strategy aligned with SEMBE’s growth priorities.
• Identify and map funding opportunities, especially in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and create a structured donor pipeline.
• Support the drafting, review and submission of high‑quality grant proposals and concept notes.
• Assist with donor outreach, including email communication, meeting preparation and follow‑up.
• Establish simple tracking systems for calls for proposals and partnership opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in resource mobilisation, grant writing or business development for NGOs or humanitarian organisations.
• Strong analytical skills to assess fundraising approaches and donor landscapes.
• Excellent written communication, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive proposals.
• Ability to work independently under the supervision of the Executive Director.
