Senior Sociology Consultant for Rural Census in Central Africa

About the role

We are seeking a senior sociology consultant to lead a comprehensive household census and psychographic analysis of a rural community in Equatorial Central Africa. The assignment will span one week of intensive fieldwork, culminating in an integrated report for an institutional client.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a household census achieving at least 95% coverage of the target community.
• Perform psychographic analysis using twelve required theoretical models.
• Carry out more than 40 individual interviews, three focus groups, and two participatory workshops.
• Compile findings into a structured, approximately 30‑page report.
• Ensure compliance with FPIC, IFC Performance Standards, and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Required profile

• PhD in Sociology or Anthropology, or a minimum of 15 years professional experience in the field.
• At least three comparable assignments conducted in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Strong knowledge of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), IFC Performance Standards, and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
