Junior Tax Accountant

About the role

The Junior Tax Accountant joins the finance team to manage day‑to‑day tax and accounting operations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role ensures compliance with tax and social declarations while supporting the preparation of reliable financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file periodic tax declarations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, payroll taxes) in line with legal deadlines.
• Manage CNPS (social security) declarations and payments.
• Maintain general and analytical accounting according to SYSCOHADA standards, including recording purchases, sales, bank and cash transactions.
• Participate in monthly and annual closings and assist in producing financial statements.
• Update and organise the company’s tax and financial database.
• Monitor tax law updates and report relevant changes to management.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather information required for declarations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal accounting and tax procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or Business Law.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a similar accounting or tax role.
• Fluent French and intermediate English.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Cameroonian tax law and SYSCOHADA accounting standards.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage or Odoo.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
