Part‑time IT Support Technician (On‑site, Garoua)

About the role

Softmix is looking for a part‑time, on‑site IT Support Technician to join its Garoua office. The technician will provide Level 1 technical assistance to end‑users, ensuring hardware, software and network systems run smoothly. This freelance position requires a resident of Garoua who can respond quickly to service requests and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site technical support to minimise downtime and optimise system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, printers and peripherals.
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs and configuration of IT equipment.
• Assist with the setup and installation of new workstations and related devices.
• Document incidents, resolutions and escalate complex problems when necessary.
• Provide basic user training on IT tools and promote security best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical support with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in an on‑site, collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Fluent oral and written English.
• Resides in Garoua, Cameroon.
