Project Associate (Assisted Returns) – Yaounde

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support assisted voluntary returns and reintegration activities in Cameroon. Based in Yaounde, the associate will work within the EU‑funded Migration Governance Enhancement project, contributing to the development of national migration policy and the delivery of comprehensive reintegration services.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate Reintegration Assistants (G4) in pre‑departure family tracing, assessment and reception activities.
• Ensure that all reintegration support complies with IOM standards and donor requirements.
• Facilitate the integration of socio‑economic and community‑based reintegration components into return processes.
• Collaborate with the Chief of Mission, MHPSS Officer, and National Reintegration Officer to align operational plans.
• Monitor data collection, reporting, and coordination mechanisms to improve program effectiveness.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in migration, social sciences, development, or related fields.
• Experience supervising field staff and coordinating multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Strong understanding of voluntary return, readmission, and reintegration processes.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and liaise with government and NGOs.
