Accountant – Finance & Administration Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to lead our Finance & Administration function in Cameroon. The role involves overseeing financial planning, reporting, budgeting, taxation, working capital, and overall financial control across manufacturing, trading, FMCG, or construction operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present weekly, monthly and annual financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and conduct bank, stock and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Develop annual and periodic budgets, perform variance analysis and enforce budgetary controls.
• Coordinate tax filings, payments and ensure statutory compliance; liaise with auditors during internal and statutory audits.
• Manage daily cash flow, banking operations, approve payments and monitor collections.
• Supervise inventory verification, import costing and pricing strategies in collaboration with commercial and warehouse teams.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, renew insurance policies and monitor risk exposure.
• Oversee payroll processing, define job descriptions and KPIs for the finance team, and lead performance appraisals.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• B.Com, M.Com, MBA (Finance) or CA Inter preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, trading, FMCG or construction sectors.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Knowledge of international trade/import documentation is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Tally ERP and Odoo.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting standards and cost control.
