About the role
The Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Yaounde and Douala seeks an Administrative Assistant to ensure smooth administrative operations supporting health assessments for migrants and refugees.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain internal office procedures such as document tracking, filing, archiving and monthly reporting.
- Manage e‑archiving of medical files, blood test results and follow‑up documents.
- Prepare and dispatch mail‑out lists for embassies and liaise on immigration processing status.
- Organise storage for chest X‑rays and hard‑copy medical documents; photocopy and scan as needed.
- Suggest and implement improvements to internal control mechanisms and SOPs.
- Receive and log completed medical deferrals, update databases and forward to physicians.
- Provide feedback on staff allocation across MHAC units.
- Maintain inventory and procure stationery, IT equipment, hygiene products and medical supplies.
- Coordinate facility acquisition, renovation and maintenance activities.
- Administer petty cash, reconcile service fees and bank statements, and advise on travel authorisations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration Management, Medical Administration or related field with at least two years relevant experience, OR secondary school diploma with at least four years experience.
- Knowledge and experience in administration, procurement or accounting.
- Experience working with refugees/migrants in a medical setting or with NGOs/international organisations is an advantage.
- Demonstrated accuracy in handling and reporting data.
