Certified Surgical Technician (PRN)

About the role

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (PRN) to join our operating‑room team on an as‑needed basis. The successful candidate will support surgeons, nurses and other staff by preparing the surgical environment, handling instruments and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions for each surgery.
• Assist with patient preparation, including washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
• Transport and position patients on the operating table and apply sterile drapes.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors, cut sutures, and count sponges, needles, and supplies.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Handle, label, and dispose of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Support post‑operative patient transfer to recovery and restock the operating room.
• Assist the Materials Manager with supply ordering and charge entry.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Certification to perform CPR.
• At least 2 years of experience in a surgical or related clinical setting.
• Ability to work under supervision of physicians and registered nurses.
