Deputy General Manager – External Affairs

About the role

The Deputy General Manager (External Affairs) will lead and coordinate the company’s external commercial relations, building sustainable partnerships and enhancing the corporate image. Reporting to senior leadership, this role supports the development and execution of the company’s cooperation strategy in Kribi, Cameroon.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all external commercial affairs, including communication with clients, partners, government authorities and other stakeholders.
• Represent the company in negotiations, cooperation discussions, strategic meetings, professional gatherings and industry events.
• Develop, maintain and expand a reliable network of external partners.
• Lead the upstream communication for cooperation projects, analyse partner needs, negotiate terms and oversee implementation.
• Monitor commercial file progress in collaboration with internal departments and ensure compliance with timelines and objectives.
• Collect and analyse market information and external business environment data to provide strategic recommendations.
• Safeguard the company’s image in all external communications and public engagements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (Master 2) in Business, Management, International Relations, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, public relations, external affairs or similar roles.
• Strong communication, coordination and execution abilities, with a high sense of responsibility and professionalism.
• Ability to work under pressure, travel as required and respect confidentiality.
• Good knowledge of the local business environment and culture; intercultural communication experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Excellent command of English for business communication, negotiations and written exchanges.
