Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper leads the housekeeping department on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, ensuring all guest areas meet the brand’s high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service. Reporting to the Hotel Director, this senior role combines operational oversight, team leadership, and guest‑experience focus.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain brand‑standard cleanliness across guest staterooms, balconies, corridors, officer cabins, laundry, lockers and storage areas.
• Lead, motivate and coach a diverse housekeeping team, handling guest feedback and service requests efficiently.
• Develop and deliver classroom‑style and on‑the‑job training for staff, supporting succession planning.
• Coordinate the division schedule with shoreside support, monitoring staffing needs.
• Oversee laundry operations, ensuring the Laundry Master has the tools, training and resources needed.
• Manage yearly budgets for housekeeping and laundry, controlling consumables and revenue streams such as laundry services and floral carts.
• Drive performance against guest‑satisfaction scores, quality reviews, health inspections and operational audits.
• Stay informed on ship events and special functions to provide accurate information to guests and staff.

Required profile

• Professional, courteous demeanor aligned with Royal Caribbean’s “Anchored in Excellence” philosophy.
• Proven leadership experience in a large‑scale housekeeping or hospitality environment.
• Strong budgeting and cost‑control skills.
• Ability to train, mentor and develop team members.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
