Finance Officer (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Finance Officer (P) to support the financial management of its Cameroon Country Office and sub‑offices. Working under the Chief of Mission or Head of Office and directly with the Resources Management Officer, the incumbent will ensure sound budgeting, accounting, and reporting in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RMO/SRMO in monitoring financial expenditure and ensuring accountability for all activities.
• Conduct preliminary financial analysis of programmes and projects, monitor budget control processes, and support internal control design.
• Provide technical support to Programme/Project Managers throughout the project cycle to ensure compliance with IOM and donor policies.
• Enter accounting data accurately into the ERP system and maintain complete financial records, both electronic and hard copy.
• Review monthly accounting closures and returns for accuracy and timely submission according to IOM accounting procedures.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Chief of Mission or Head of Office and reports to the Resources Management Officer.
• Collaborates closely with the Regional Office for Central and West Africa (Dakar) and the Department of Financial and Administrative Management at Headquarters.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP financial system.
• Strong financial analysis and budgeting capabilities.
• Knowledge of internal control and financial reporting standards.
