Gender and Adolescent Intern (National) – Yaoundé, Cameroon

About the role

UNICEF Cameroon is seeking a motivated national intern to support its Adolescent and Gender Programme. The intern will contribute to the development and validation of the Girls’ Rights Agenda, helping to shape policies that advance gender equality and adolescent wellbeing in Cameroon.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in compiling inputs, formatting documents, and tracking activities for the Girls’ Rights Agenda.
• Support coordination with civil society organisations, NGOs, and youth groups, maintaining contact lists and simple tracking tools.
• Follow up with partners to ensure timely delivery of deliverables and gather feedback.
• Prepare brief reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Cameroon national, currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant university programme.
• Strong interest in gender issues, adolescent development, and public‑sector programmes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (and French preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
