Head of Finance

About the role

The Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation is seeking a senior finance leader to direct all financial, accounting and operational functions across its programmes. Based in Yaoundé, the Head of Finance will ensure the organisation’s financial sustainability, compliance and strategic use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive‑level oversight of financial management, accounting, treasury and cash‑flow across the foundation.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, donor requirements, statutory obligations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Design, implement and continuously improve financial management systems, internal control frameworks and enterprise risk‑management practices.
• Lead the annual budgeting cycle, monitor performance, and deliver strategic financial analysis to senior leadership.
• Oversee treasury operations to maintain liquidity and financial stability.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Act as primary liaison with auditors, donors, regulators and the Board on all financial matters.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level finance experience, preferably within non‑profit or international organisations.
• Proven track record of leading finance functions and managing large, multi‑project budgets.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, donor compliance and statutory financial regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior leadership and communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Leadership skills to build and develop high‑performing finance teams.
