IP/Data Communication Engineer – Cameroon

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IP/Data Communication Engineer to lead network implementation, technical support, and maintenance across Cameroon and other African markets. The role involves close collaboration with customers, project managers, and technical teams to deliver high‑quality IP RAN, IP/MPLS, and Carrier IP network projects.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver implementation, integration, commissioning, and acceptance of IP RAN, IP/MPLS, and Carrier IP network projects.
• Configure networks, troubleshoot faults, diagnose issues, and perform corrective maintenance to ensure stability and service availability.
• Monitor performance, analyze alarms and KPIs, identify root causes, and apply optimization solutions.
• Prepare and review technical documentation such as HLD, LLD, MOP, ATP, and as‑built records.
• Support project delivery by ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
• Provide technical support, preventive maintenance, software upgrades, node health checks, backups, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with customers, project teams, and cross‑functional departments to resolve technical issues and maintain customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in IP RAN, IP/MPLS, or Carrier IP network deployment and maintenance.
• Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• IP RAN, IP/MPLS, Carrier IP networking.
• TCP/IP, MPLS, ISIS, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies.
• Network configuration, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, software upgrades, node health checks, backups, inventory management.
• Experience with Huawei, ZTE, Cisco, Nokia, or Juniper equipment.
