Network Optimization Manager

About the role

ZTE Cameroon is looking for a Network Optimization Manager within its Engineering / Network Delivery department. The role covers the overall optimization and performance management of large-scale mobile networks, acting as the main technical interface with the customer on network optimization matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead network optimization activities: KPI monitoring, performance analysis, network health checks, parameter and capacity optimization, and troubleshooting coordination.
• Support daily network operations and maintenance, analyze alarms, performance data and customer complaints, and drive issues to closure.
• Support major network changes, expansions and technology evolution projects.
• Act as the main technical contact with the customer, hold regular technical reviews and turn customer requirements into optimization plans.
• Manage and develop the local optimization team, set up standardized processes, reporting and knowledge sharing, and coordinate with wireless, core, transmission, project delivery and other teams.
• Support network rollout, modernization, expansion and acceptance, and give technical input for new site integration, network migration and parameter configuration.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in mobile network optimization and O&M, preferably on large-scale commercial networks.
• Proven RAN/network optimization experience, including KPI analysis, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting large operator networks, preferably 1000+ sites or multi-region networks.
• Fluent French and English, both used as working languages.
• Strong communication, customer management and team management skills; able to handle complex issues independently and work in a fast-paced project environment.
• Cameroonian candidates are preferred; experience with major African telecom operators, ZTE/Huawei/Nokia or similar vendors, and managing local technical teams is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good understanding of LTE/4G and 5G; 2G/3G experience is an advantage.
• Strong network performance analysis and problem-solving.
• Preferred: experience with network optimization tools, KPI platforms and performance management systems.
