Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager will oversee the delivery of contractual and ad‑hoc security services, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, and financial targets. Reporting to the Area Manager, the role balances operational excellence with client satisfaction and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the business unit’s financial performance, including gross margin, wage control, overheads, and contract profitability.
• Develop and implement cost‑saving models and controls.
• Lead staff allocation, labour management, rosters, overtime, and leave to optimise productivity.
• Conduct performance assessments, enforce disciplinary standards, and maintain high motivation levels.
• Ensure client retention by handling queries, maintaining service standards, and overseeing alarm requirements.
• Maintain accurate logs of calls and activations, and ensure only trained security personnel are deployed.
• Perform regular risk assessments to minimise claims and manage invoicing accuracy and payment collection.
• Identify new business opportunities, evaluate competitors, and drive business development within the region.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security operations management or a similar supervisory role.
• Strong financial acumen with ability to control costs, manage budgets, and improve profitability.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, including staff motivation and performance monitoring.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation, company policies, and security industry standards.
• Customer‑focused mindset with strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop business‑development strategies.
