Patient Care Technician / Nurse's Aid (PRN, Day Shift)

About the role

Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential nursing care to an assigned group of patients on a PRN, day‑shift basis. This position supports both the emotional and physical needs of patients while working as part of a collaborative care team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care, change linens, and assist with patient ambulation.
• Take and record vital signs, transport patients, and ensure safe movement within the facility.
• Support patients’ emotional well‑being and respond to basic care needs promptly.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.

Required profile

• Ability to read, write, perform simple math, and follow instructions.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
• Basic communication and computer proficiency.
• Knowledge to provide care appropriate to the patient population on the assigned unit.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Nurse's Aid certification or completion of one year of formal RN coursework.
• Basic computer skills.
