Pharmacy Technician – VA Healthcare System (Orlando, FL)

About the role

We are seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician to join the Orlando VA Healthcare System, providing hands‑on pharmacy support across several VA clinics in the Orlando area. The role involves direct interaction with patients and clinical staff in a modern, multi‑site environment serving U.S. veterans.

Key responsibilities

• Process and fill prescriptions using pharmacy computer systems and automation equipment.
• Support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations at multiple VA locations.
• Maintain medication inventory, ensure proper storage conditions, and conduct regular stock checks.
• Enter, verify, and manage patient prescription data in the electronic health record.
• Troubleshoot pharmacy equipment issues and coordinate escalations when necessary.

Required profile

• Active certification as a CPhT (PTCB) or ExCPT (NHA).
• 1–2 years recent experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems, medications, and standard procedures.
• Ability to pass VA credentialing, background screening, and onboarding requirements.
• Eligibility to work across multiple clinic sites and not appear on the OIG exclusion list.
