Radiology Technologist – Refugee Health Assessment (G‑5)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a qualified Radiology Technologist to join its Health Assessment Programme. Working under the Senior Radiologic Technologist and with support from the IOM Teleradiology Centre, you will provide high‑quality chest X‑ray services to refugees and migrants.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire chest X‑ray images according to IOM, international, and resettlement‑country standards.
• Explain procedures to applicants, verify IDs, and ensure correct patient data entry.
• Apply radiation protection measures, including lead shielding for all patients and special protocols for pregnant women.
• Process digital images on CR/DR systems, assess image quality, and repeat scans when necessary.
• Report urgent findings to radiologists or physicians promptly.
• Lead quality‑assurance activities for the X‑ray unit and maintain radiation‑safety compliance.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance with technical service providers and perform routine performance checks.

Required profile

• Formal training and certification as a radiology technologist.
• Experience in digital radiography (CR/DR) and chest imaging.
• Knowledge of radiation protection regulations and badge monitoring.
• Ability to work under supervision while taking initiative in quality‑assurance tasks.
