Senior Compliance Officer

About the role

The Senior Compliance Officer will support Management Sciences for Health (MSH) Cameroon in ensuring that all project and country operations comply with MSH policies, donor requirements, and Cameroonian law. Working closely with project leadership, finance, and governance functions, the role develops risk‑based compliance plans and monitors their implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an annual compliance‑monitoring plan, including tools, checklists and schedules for all functional areas.
• Conduct regular reviews of finance, procurement, HR, payroll, assets, travel and other support processes to verify internal controls.
• Document findings, recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure timely implementation.
• Support country‑level risk assessments, maintain the risk register and assist with audit preparation and responses.
• Provide guidance and training on compliance, ethics, internal controls and fraud‑risk prevention.
• When authorized, participate in confidential investigations of suspected fraud, waste or misconduct.

Required profile

• Significant experience in compliance, internal audit or risk management, preferably in the health or development sector.
• Strong knowledge of Cameroonian regulations, donor compliance requirements and MSH policies.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills.
