Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position (36 hours per week) is based at the West Centre in Glasgow. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist you will join the Glasgow City Speech and Language Therapy Team, working primarily with children and families who experience communication, neurodevelopmental, and eating & drinking differences.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and provide therapy to children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties.
• Design and deliver specialised therapy programmes tailored to individual needs, including complex cases.
• Manage an autonomous caseload, prioritising risk and need under the guidance of the SLT Team Leader/Manager.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary services such as CAMHS, OT, physiotherapy and educational psychology.
• Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, operational management and Care Aims processes.
• Deliver services flexibly across home, pre‑5, mainstream and ASN educational settings as well as health environments.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with experience in neuro‑affirming practice.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse caseload.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with children’s services and wider multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to person‑centred care and Realistic Medicine principles.
