MEAL Assistant (G4) – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Assistant (G‑4) will support the implementation of the MPRR and RRR projects in Douala, Cameroon. Working under the Senior MEAL Associate and the Chief of Mission, the incumbent will help ensure accurate data collection, beneficiary feedback handling and documentation of lessons learned to improve program quality for migrants and host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist program teams in using MEAL tools to monitor reintegration, direct assistance and awareness activities, verifying beneficiary data accuracy.
• Collect and enter data on migrant assistance and community‑based initiatives, perform basic data cleaning and flag discrepancies.
• Support beneficiary feedback mechanisms, record feedback from suggestion boxes, hotlines or focus groups and forward information to the Senior MEAL Associate.
• Participate in field monitoring missions, including post‑reintegration visits, and document beneficiary progress.
• Help prepare interim and final MEAL reports, ensuring inclusion of disaggregated data (age, gender, vulnerability).
• Assist in organizing surveys and assessments to measure satisfaction and impact.
• Compile good practices, challenges and lessons learned, and maintain records of MEAL activities.
• Provide administrative support for coordination with local partners and follow‑up on complaints and suggestions.

Required profile

• Experience supporting monitoring, evaluation, accountability or learning activities in humanitarian or development projects.
• Ability to work closely with program, protection and management teams.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to handle data accurately.
• Good written and spoken English; knowledge of local context is an advantage.
