About the role
The Business Office Coordinator will manage the daily operations of the business office in a surgery center, ensuring smooth patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and financial processes while maintaining high patient satisfaction and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee front‑desk activities, scheduling, and patient communications.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations.
- Accurately enter patient demographics and documentation.
- Collect payments, co‑pays, and manage outstanding balances per policy.
- Act as liaison among patients, physicians, clinical staff, and billing teams.
- Monitor scheduling accuracy and coordinate cases.
- Support revenue‑cycle tasks such as charge capture and follow‑up.
- Address patient inquiries and financial questions professionally.
- Assist with HIPAA, CMS, AAAHC, and internal compliance.
- Help leadership with reporting, audits, and process improvements.
Required profile
- High school diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience in a healthcare or surgery‑center environment.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, authorizations, and medical terminology.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer‑service abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
Required skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
