About the role

The Business Office Coordinator will manage the daily operations of the business office in a surgery center, ensuring smooth patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and financial processes while maintaining high patient satisfaction and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee front‑desk activities, scheduling, and patient communications.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations.
  • Accurately enter patient demographics and documentation.
  • Collect payments, co‑pays, and manage outstanding balances per policy.
  • Act as liaison among patients, physicians, clinical staff, and billing teams.
  • Monitor scheduling accuracy and coordinate cases.
  • Support revenue‑cycle tasks such as charge capture and follow‑up.
  • Address patient inquiries and financial questions professionally.
  • Assist with HIPAA, CMS, AAAHC, and internal compliance.
  • Help leadership with reporting, audits, and process improvements.

Required profile

  • High school diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or surgery‑center environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, authorizations, and medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer‑service abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
