Head of Energy – Cameroon

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Head of Energy to lead its renewable energy and telecom power business in Cameroon. The role combines strategic oversight of solar and hybrid projects with hands‑on management of end‑to‑end execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the energy business and project execution across Cameroon.
• Plan, manage and deliver solar farms, hybrid and battery‑storage solutions for telecom and infrastructure sites.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle – planning, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and O&M.
• Manage EPC contractors, vendors, consultants and local project teams.
• Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, quality, budget and HSE requirements.
• Develop CAPEX budgets, resource plans and execution strategies.
• Coordinate with telecom operators, government authorities, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Build and lead a high‑performing local energy/project execution team.
• Identify expansion opportunities in renewable energy and telecom power infrastructure.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, solar power, or telecom infrastructure.
• Proven track record delivering utility‑scale or commercial solar projects.
• Experience with telecom site power systems (BTS, tower power, hybrid solutions).
• Strong commercial and project‑management capabilities, including CAPEX and vendor contract handling.
• Fluency in French (mandatory) and English (advantageous).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Renewable Energy or related field.
• PMP, Project Management certification or MBA is a plus.
