About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated intern to join its Nexus & Solutions unit in Yaoundé. The role offers a practical learning environment while supporting the team’s efforts to link humanitarian action, development, and peace.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with programme activities, including strategic input, document preparation, coordination, logistics and administrative support.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, take notes, archive files and manage stakeholder contacts.
- Support documentation and reporting, including basic data collection, stakeholder mapping and database management.
- Help organise events, workshops and coordination meetings related to electoral assistance, durable solutions and peace initiatives.
- Identify funding opportunities and contribute to the drafting of project proposals and concept notes.
- Assist in managing consultancies and IP partners, providing product evaluation input and ensuring administrative and financial follow‑up.
- Facilitate relationships with key ministries and other government partners.
- Document best practices, lessons learned and project results, and provide general clerical support.
Required profile
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or recent graduate (within 12 months) in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences or related fields.
- Experience or interest in institutional relations and working in an international, multicultural environment, preferably within the United Nations system.
- Strong interest in the humanitarian‑development‑peace nexus and its practical applications.
- Ability to engage with government authorities, UN agencies and development partners.
