Neurodevelopmental Practitioner – Specialist Children’s Services (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

This fixed‑term position (6 months, part‑time) is based at The West Centre in Drumchapel and supports the Neurodevelopmental Pathway for children and young people in the west of Glasgow. The role is open to qualified Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, or Registered Nurses who will join the multidisciplinary West ND Team.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessments and interventions for children and young people.
• Provide post‑diagnostic support and consultancy to the wider Children’s Services team.
• Collaborate closely with CAMHS, Specialist Community Paediatrics and local education partners.
• Deliver person‑centred, evidence‑based care and communicate findings effectively to families.
• Contribute to service development by sharing expertise within the team.

Required profile

• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or another relevant professional body.
• Relevant professional qualification as an Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist or Registered Nurse.
• Experience of neurodevelopmental assessment, diagnosis and support strategies.
• Experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences is desirable.
