Program Assistant – ViiV Pediatric Breakthrough Partnership

About the role

The Program Assistant will support the ViiV Pediatric Breakthrough Partnership, helping EGPAF deliver high‑impact HIV prevention and treatment services for mothers, children and families. Working under the Program Manager, you will assist with implementation, budgeting, and coordination across districts and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to ViiV‑supported districts for effective implementation of the district‑approach model, including PMTCT, ANC uptake and pediatric HIV services.
• Support district health teams in designing, implementing and monitoring quality‑improvement projects aimed at improving HIV service delivery, testing, and ART retention.
• Oversee capacity‑building activities, mentoring and coaching sites to ensure quality PMTCT and early infant diagnosis (EID) services.
• Facilitate the use of EID mapping tools, ensure sample routing to functional platforms, and maintain monthly line‑lists of HEI eligible for EID.
• Coordinate quarterly joint supervision visits with districts and health facilities.
• Assist districts in implementing the Finding Every Child (FeCh) approach and triple‑elimination strategies for HIV, syphilis and HBV.
• Work with finance and procurement teams to submit budget requests, track field advances, and ensure timely transfer of communication credits.
