Senior Manager, Commercial Legal

About the role

The Senior Manager – Commercial Legal leads all commercial legal activities for MTN Cameroon, focusing on contract arrangements and corporate governance. The role provides strategic legal advice, manages transactional risk and ensures compliance with regulatory frameworks in a fast‑evolving telecom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain standard contracts and checklists, integrating company policies and applicable laws.
• Draft, negotiate and formalise complex commercial agreements while monitoring the Contract Management System to resolve issues swiftly.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks across customer and supplier relationships, and ensure key risk indicators stay within thresholds.
• Provide legal advisory to management, researching applicable laws and delivering opinions on business initiatives and projects.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with judicial, administrative and governmental authorities, influencing policy and overseeing outside counsel.
• Champion and oversee the legal streams of major company projects, ensuring alignment with group‑level objectives and timely delivery.
